  1. Hello,
  2.
  3. First I would like to thank you for all the high quality content that Jupiter Broadcasting produces. I am a supporter of Unfiltered and enjoy watching Plan B and your other shows on occasion as well.

  5. Recently when going through articles online I ran into Namecoin. Namecoin as far as I can tell is a fork of Bitcoin with a few interesting differences. Once you have a certain number of Namecoins you can purchase a entry of a short message that everyone running the software will be able to read at any time. Programs now exist to use this entry for both DNS and SSL. Of course there could be many more applications for an entry but I think that even these two things can be incredibly important.

  7. Providing DNS and SSL certs is a large business. Having to pay ~$3 (thanks for various GoDaddy codes btw) for domains and ~$7 certs in my opinion doesn't properly reflect the actual effort that is required to get these systems to work.

  9. Also with various authoritarian governments starting to take a hostile view on the internet the way that certificate authorities are setup might no longer be sufficient. If a government can pressure CAs to sign fake SSL certs then a MITM attack becomes possible on the citizens of the country. This is not a desirable situation. By having SSL certs being cryptographically verified by namecoins we can circumvent this situation.

  11. Link to article about turkey potentially doing this to spy on government workers. http://arstechnica.com/security/2013/01/turkish-government-agency-spoofed-google-certificate-accidentally/

  13. Thanks again,
