  1. Hi Chris and Mike,
  2.
  3. I have a problem I was hoping you guys could help me with.
  4.
  5. So over the last year and a half, I've really fallen in love with programming. I've built websites here and there, Learned HTML, CSS, Javascript and quite a bit of PHP. Because of this new found love, I recently started a new job developing websites for a tech company. It mainly consists of setting up sites for their new/existing clients.

  7. So my immediate boss is the only other person at the company who does anything involving web design/development. To put it mildly, he's very "oldschool" and loves to use tables. He also loves to use ASP. Based on what I've seen, it behaves very much the same way as PHP, minus the syntax differences, however I can't help but feel like ASP is just old.

  9. He's asked me to really start diving into it and I wanted to get your guy's opinion on the matter. Is ASP outdated? I've heard about ASP.net but I'm not really sure what the difference is. Would it be a waste of time to learn ASP when I could be focusing that time on learning more about HTML5, PHP or Javascript?

  11. Thanks so much for everything you guys do. Coder Radio is my favorite podcast followed by LAS. Keep up the great work and thanks for whatever help you can offer.
