  3. I'm a FreeBSD convert-in-progress and learning many things for the first time, especially about different shells. I understand that *sh* should be the baseline when writing shell scripts because it is POSIX compliant and supported everywhere. bash is recommended for interactive shells and is popular on Linux distros. csh and tcsh are closely related to each other but not as featureful or popular as bash. Others, like ksh, zsh, and fish, are also well known and used by many.
