  1. Hi Chris and Matt,
  2.
  3. I just watched 'Chris switches to Arch: Day 2'. I was very surprised to see SimpleScreenRecorder. I'm the creator of that program, and I was planning to send you an email about it as soon as I got the Ubuntu PPA up, but you beat me to it!

  5. Anyway, the reason I'm contacting you is because I know the cause of those glitches in the video. It is an issue with the proprietary NVIDIA drivers, and is *not* unique to SimpleScreenRecorder - I've seen the same happen with ffmpeg. The solution is to open the NVIDIA control panel and uncheck 'Allow Flipping'. More information here:

  8. I've now added some code to SimpleScreenRecorder to detect this problem and fix it automatically, so if you just update the AUR package, you won't have to do anything. I hope that you can still give my program a try, because now everyone who watched that video is assuming that my program is the culprit while it's actually a driver issue ...

  10. I really like LAS, especially the Arch challenge - I've been an Arch user for a few months, and I'm still discovering new things (like pacaur). Keep up the good work!
