  1. I was excited to find the latest edition of BSDNow in my podcast client this afternoon. I listened to the first part, and the Kris' talk of KDE and PC-BSD got me wondering about whether my old laptop could run a BSD desktop.
  3. It's an eight-year old Toshiba Celeron with two gigs of RAM (x86). It's currently running Xubuntu 14.04, and is usable for most everyday tasks. If I wanted to run a BSD desktop on an ageing hardware (for consistency with my other systems), would it be better to install an older version of PC-BSD from five or six years ago, or a newer FreeBSD with a lightweight GUI on top? Are there any lightweight GUIs for BSD?
  5. Thanks in advance. Love the show. It's got me excited to try going all-BSD!
