I know this is a question often asked and hard to answer. I've been a Linux user since the mid 90's with Slackware. I've tried most of the distros at one time or another. Currently I'm running a Gentoo system. Thing is, I'm kinda tired of having to compile everything for little gain in speed. I switch to Gentoo from Manjaro which was great but wasn't a fan of the rolling updates. I used to use Ubuntu, but don't want to go back to a Debian style system.
I use my system to play Steam and GOG games, some minor Python development and every once in a while C,C++. Also use it for ham radio a lot. As I've got power to spare on this machine I also use it as a media server (Jellyfin and/or Plex).
I'm looking for the new shiny. I was thinking of openSuSE or Elementary. Kinda a fan of KDE 5 Plasma. Are their any other distros that you would suggest?
Thanks for the help.
P.S. I've been a listener on and off for many years. Glad your still around and keep up the good work.
