  1. Savo in Schenectady.
  3. My current home fileserver has a pair of 2 tb drives in a mirror.  2 TB of usable space.  Less than a single TB in use.
  5. I want to replace it with a free Nas mini.   I currently can't afford to buy more larger drives.  I will want to reuse the 2TB Dives.
  7. I do have access to four 500 GB drives.  I want to replace this with the FreeNAS mini and the 500 gig drives in a stripe of mirrors, like the kind I hear you speak of on tech SNAP.
  9. Once I move my data off of the 2TB drives, I will erase them and store them until I can afford to buy two more 2TB drives.  Then replace each 500 gig drive one a a time after it re silvers.
  11. Does this makes sense?
