  1. First off great show ! - I'm a listener since episode one of bsdnow, and I have a little history to share - and get some insight into. Here goes:
  2.
  3. I had a Soekris firewall (net6501) which died a week ago (R.I.P.), so I went to buy an updated box to run pfSense on. I settled with the Netgate(pc.engines APU1C4).
  4.
  5. However, after this firewall was deployed, I didn't think much of it, and things seemed to work. Now the following days I've had enourmous latencies (in the 700-800ms range) on every request. So I called my ISP, and they asked me to bypass the firewall. Then I got a really good connection (like 17-18ms).
  6.
  7. So I plugged the WAN cable back into my firewall, and then it suddenly worked perfectly!
  8.
  9. Could this be a problem with the NIC's in the APU1C4 (Realtek RTL8111E) ? and how can I possibly solve this, I'm on a pfsense 2.1.4/freeBSD 8.3.
  10.
  11. I dont want to go unplugging my firewall every two days - but I remember Allan mentioned something along those lines, possibly with an intel nic?
  12.
  13. Would be cool to have a solution :)
  14.
  15. Enjoying the video podcast every week while driving to work - keep pushing those podcasts out :)
