  1. If you're looking for an alternate e-mail hosting service, I'd suggest looking at runbox.com. Their main claim to fame is that they're in Norway and are focused on security. So, in theory, folks like the US government can't subpoena them for your e-mails (the whole Edward Snowden bit seems to have really helped their business).

  3. But the main reason I chose to use them is that they support up to 100 e-mail aliases per account out of the box and allow you to buy more if you need them, whereas most other e-mail hosting services seem to be a lot more limited with the number of e-mail aliases they support. That probably won't matter to a lot of folks, but since I usually use a separate e-mail alias per site I deal with (which makes filtering my e-mails and tracking where addresses get leaked quite easy), it matters a lot to me. So, runbox has been a great solution for me, and I'd recommend that anyone looking for an e-mail hosting service check them out in case it fits what they're looking for too.
