  1. Hello,
  2.
  3. I am new to UNIX and FreeBSD. I have been addicted to jails ever since reading your 'Everything you need to know about Jails' tutorial. I've been messing around so much in FreeBSD, the idea of creating and destroying jails is great for experimenting without worrying too much about not being able to reboot after I mess something up.  I like the idea of having a unique IP for each jail but I was wondering if there was a way to automate the part where you create the IP aliases and use that information to create the jail?

  5. It would be really neat if I could just call the script, specify a specific network adapter, an IP and a hostname for the jail. The script would then create the network alias, add the info to /etc/rc.conf, create the jail, and copy the etc/resolv.conf file to the new jail.

  7. If that's too ambitious, is there a way to script the alias creation part?

  9. I love the show by the way and I am really loving FreeBSD.
