  3. My name is Youssef. I run a big Linux cluster in Alexandria, Egypt.
  5. For certain faulty nodes on the cluster, the DHCP server keeps logging DHCPDISCOVER ... DHCPDECLINE over and over again, which ends up flooding syslog.
  7. I know the faulty machines need to be dealt with. However, it would be really convenient if the DHCP server could automatically ignore excessive DHCPDISCOVER packets from such clients. I was thinking if it may be possible to do such rate limiting via something like fail2ban or similar.
  9. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
