  1. I have used linux primarly since around 2008, dual booting between windows XP, vista, and 7, with ubuntu, and various other distro's of linux, however i am starting to get curious into the realm of BSD and am in a lack for better words, afraid to switch, using PC-BSD in virtualbox has given me somewhat of an idea of what BSD is like, however i still have the fear of switching due to knowing the linux command line, knowing the gui tools, knowing how certain distro's handle app updates, etc. what are the main differences at the desktop-user interface that i should be expecting to see if i do decide to switch, i love the concept of jails, but maybe a better explination of what separates it from virtualbox(practically a VNC connection to a VM in gui), what the ports tree actually is, etc. That would be so very helpful in decisiding whether to switch from linux to a variant of BSD, and yes allen, i know BSD > linux. haha. anyway, keep up the great show, i haven't missed an episode.
