  3. A few months ago I requested suggestions for a cheap, managed switch that had a correct implementation of VLANs (ie not hardcoding all ports as members of VLAN 1 like TPLink and Netgear).

  5. I ended up with an HP Procurve 2824 off of ebay.  It's older but for $40 including shipping, it will serve my home network well.
