  1. The hate is strong with this one! I find myself once again defending a technology on your show. I hope this won't become a thing.
  3. A year ago, I was dragged kicking and screaming into the world of server-side javascript by a client who insisted on using node.js for a project. The result of which is that I am now totally in love with javascript and regret not having taken a more serious look at it earlier. Here's why:
  5. 1. I can use a single language all the way down the stack, even down to the database if I use mongo db.
  7. 2. Something that gets overlooked, but which I think makes a very strong case for javascript is JSON and how integrated it is into the language.
  9. Don't get me wrong, javascipt has its warts but you learn to deal with them and despite Michael's assertion that "no one wants to use javascript" it has become my go to language.
  11. Typescript and others of that ilk may bring something worthwhile to the table, but can only ever be a stop-gap measure. I think we have to look to things like ES6 for an answer to improving things.
